    INTRODUCTION

    The CGS-6081-8X is the most powerful Serial ATA II PCI-X Host Bus Adapter (HBA) to accommodate Serial ATA II devices. Any system with a PCI-X and PCI buses interface can simply add the Serial ATA II devices by simply adding the CGS-6081-8X host adapter and loading the drivers into the system.

    Serial ATA II is a high-speed serial link replacement for the parallel ATA attachment of mass storage devices. It is backward compatible with the current Serial ATA specifications. The serial link employed is a high-speed differential layer that utilizes Gigabit technology and 8b/10b encoding. The current data rate is 3.0Gb/s (=300MB/s).

    The CGS-6081-8X supports 8 serial ATA II ports. The built-in Marvell chip provides deep FIFOs, watch dog, 133MHz PCI-X transfer features and complete software driver for major Operating Systems. It is the right choice for a PCI to Serial ATA II versatile devices.
