INTROUDCTION

FWBU2EIDE525D-1 is ideally suited for tailgate interface applications for ATAPI ODD (Optical Disk Drive)
- CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, tape drive, and hard disk drive. It allows IDE drives (Master and Slave) to be connected to a FireWire (IEEE 1394) or USB serial bus in a plug-and-play fashion. 

FWBU2EIDE525D-1 provides the perfect solution for data backup and transferring of data between computers using IDE (ATA/ATAPI) devices.

FWBU2EIDE525D-1 combines two key components:
1). FireWire800 (IEEE 1394b) & USB 2.0 ComBo to IDE (ATA/ATAPI) Bridge Board:
2). CF-7021 (Dual 5.25" Bays Enclosure)

1). FireWire800 (IEEE 1394b) & USB 2.0 ComBo to IDE (ATA/ATAPI) Bridge Board:

  • USB 2.0 and FireWire 800 (1394b) arbitration: Auto-Switch by detecting USB bus power.
  • USB 2.0 Interface: One mini B-5pin USB connector
  • USB Bus Transfer Rate: High Speed (480 Mbit) And Full Speed (12 Mbit)
  • USB Bus Power: Self Powered Mode Operation
  • USB 2.0 high speed LED
  • FireWire ports: One FireWire-6pin and Two Biligual-9pin
  • 1394 Bus Transfer Rate: 100/200/400/800 Mbps
  • IDE Access LED
  • IDE Interface: Male IDC 2X20 Connector
  • Both ATA and ATAPI devices are supported using the same firmware.
  • Complies with T13's ATA/ATAPI-7 Draft Specification:
    - PIO Mode 0 ~ 4
    - DMA Mode 0 ~ 2
    - Ultra DMA Mode 0 ~ 4 
    - Ultra DMA Mode 5, 6 (FireWire only)
  • Supports 48-bit LBA for large hard drives (>128GB).

2). CF-7021 (Dual 5.25" Bays Enclosure)

  • Provide two 5.25" device bay
  • The inner metal mounting bracket provide the screw hole for 5.25" devices.
  • Provide one RCA Jack
  • Power indicator LED, HDD access LED and USB 2.0 high speed LED
  • Provide Power Switch on the front panel.
  • Built-in 80W power supply/Universal auto-switching 90-240V AC
  • Built-in 80x80 mm cooling fan

  • Desktop PC: with either a built-in FireWire (1394b or 1394a) controller or a FireWire (1394b or 1394a) to PCI Host Adapter equipped with a external FireWire (1394b or 1394a) port.
  • Desktop PC: with either a built-in USB (1.0 or 2.0) controller or a USB (1.0 or 2.0) to PCI Host Adapter equipped with a external USB port.
  • Laptop PC: with either a built-in FireWire (1394b or 1394a) controller or a FireWire (1394b or 1394a) to CardBus PC Card equipped with a external FireWire (1394b or 1394a) port.
  • Laptop PC: with either a built-in USB (1.0 or 2.0) controller or a USB (1.0 or 2.0) to CardBus PC Card equipped with a external USB port.
