This enclosure has 4 1394b ports + 2 single USB-b ports on back of enclosure. If you need a harddrive solution that allows you to access your data on any computer with USB2.0 and/or Firewire, this build fits those needs.

Reguardless of your choice of drives, you should expect transfer speeds of around 30MB/s with USB 2.0, and 40MB/s with 1394a.

Also! Great for use as semi-portable storage with single USB 2.0 connection on back of enclosure for access of harddrives on any USB 2.0 compatible computer (of course USB 1.1 is operational but slower transfer speeds due to limited bandwidth).

This enclosure is very lightweight with it's all aluminum frame, covering, and internal power suply. The 80mm cooling fan in the rear for heat disipation. Swapping of harddrives is quick and easy with the QuickSwap tray system. Drives are simply removed without physically mounting with screws or other accessories, just simply pull the lever to release the door to allow harddrives to be pulled out.
