I installed the IDE Hard drive to SATA port adapter and it immediately worked very well but note that care must be taken with handling and installation to avoid a problem which I encountered.
I wasn't satisfied with the SATA port that I connected the cable to and decided to change it to a better located port on the motherboard. In order to connect the SATA data cable to the other port I had to turn the cable head in the opposite direction. This unexpectedly resulted in the cable twisting at the connection to the adapter to the extent that it broke and totally ruined the connector on the adapter making it unusable.
I accept that it was my fault that it broke, and should have removed the connector from the adapter before attempting to change the cable port location to the motherboard.

I notified Cool Drives about the incident and they sent out a replacement adapter to me for no charge.
I do believe that this is good product although care must be taken with handling and installation in particular with the SATA cable.
