Customer Reviews

  1. Works well, easy to setup! Review by Redfred1

I needed a way to add a security dongle for my networked application running on a thin client. Works great... It was easy to setup and no issues so far. The 4 ports gives me some expansion capability for not much more than some of the single port units I saw. (Posted on 3/24/2015)

  2. works with SBIG astronomical cameras + at the same time a usb telescope controller Review by Gary

Biggest problem with this usb to ip rig was getting past all the Win 8 difficulties.
I really wish the folks at cool drives would post a link on how-to directions with win8 on their site. After a rather tedious install my STL1001E SBIG astronomical CCD camera is working well with the USB to IP adapter and its simultaneously handling usb communications from my SiTech telescope controller. Be advised though, as the previous review eluded to, the computer needs to have the fast I/O to make sure the communications are not disrupted when downloading images (the camera needs ISO-synchronous bandwidth) . I would recommend this hardier model for observatory use..
BTW I have an earlier version of this USB to IP model that has worked well for a couple of years now on Win32 machine ( it's now my backup). (Posted on 5/4/2013)

  3. Works easily for *MOST* common hardware Review by Ed

Everything works fine, including my USB thumb drive, external mass storage, printer and even controlling/downloading photos from my Canon EOS camera.

However, I cannot use it successfully on my astronomical autoguiding system as it is very IO intensive, or the IP overhead causes the application which runs the autoguider fails. (Posted on 4/20/2012)
